I deal with wetland plants, their ecology, relationships, hybridization and genetic and morfologic variation.

I am currently studing Malinae subtribe of Rosaceae family as part of my postdoctoral research in Vienna at Austrian Research Centre for Forests.

My previous investigations at Department of Botany, Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague were taxonomy, genetic and morfological variation and hybridization in the genus Bolboschoenus and species Sparganium erectum and its subspecies.

The methods usually used in my studies are measurements of morphological character and subsequent multivariate analyses, flow cytometry for estimation of genome size and molecular marker AFLP (amplified fragments length polymorphism) that allows me to find genetic variation, relationships between studied plants and uncover hybrid origin of atypic plants.

Lately I also use new methods of next generation sequencing as Hyb-Seq that arised as even more powerful tool for obtaining genetic variation and relationship of plants.
